Who we are

Jasper DiSanto, doing business as Dark Monkey Media, operates darkmonkeymedia.com. Our services are marketed to U.S. businesses. For privacy questions or requests, contact hello@darkmonkeymedia.com.

Information we use

When you send an inquiry, we receive the name, email address, message and any optional business, website, budget or timeline information you provide. We use it to respond, evaluate the request and manage follow-up. Please do not submit passwords, payment-card data or sensitive personal information.

Our website and hosting services process technical information such as IP addresses, request details, timestamps and errors to deliver and protect the site. Rejecting analytics does not stop information needed to operate the site or deliver your inquiry.

If you accept optional analytics, Google Analytics processes usage information and browser/device information to help us understand page use and accepted inquiry submissions. We do not send inquiry text, names, email addresses or receipt identifiers as analytics event parameters. An accepted-inquiry event means the server accepted the notification for delivery; it does not establish inbox delivery or a qualified lead.

Your analytics choices

Google Analytics is off until you select Accept analytics. Reject analytics has equal prominence. You can revisit either choice through Privacy choices in the footer. The contact form works without analytics. A browser Global Privacy Control or Do Not Track signal keeps analytics off even after a previous opt-in. Clarity session recording and Microsoft advertising tracking are disabled for this launch.

We remember your choice on this browser for six months. Clearing browser storage removes the choice. If storage is unavailable, the choice may last only for the current page. Withdrawing consent stops future analytics collection; it does not automatically erase data already collected. Contact us to request deletion where applicable.

Browser storage

Analytics remains disabled for logged-in WordPress users. Administrative WordPress login/security storage applies to authorized administrators. Hosting logs are separate from these browser items.

Service providers and disclosures

We use hosting infrastructure to operate our WordPress website, Microsoft 365 to receive and manage inquiry email, OpenProject to manage work and follow-up records, and Google Analytics for optional measurement. Information may be processed in the United States or other locations where these services operate. This policy does not promise that information remains exclusively in the United States.

We use information for the purposes described above and may disclose it when required by law or necessary to protect the site and address misuse. Adding another use or service requires an updated review and disclosure.

Retention

Google Analytics user and event data is configured for two-month retention, without resetting the period when someone returns. Aggregate reports can remain available longer.

We review non-client inquiries for deletion twelve months after the last meaningful contact. This is a manual review process, not an automatic deletion deadline. It covers the shared inquiry mailbox, its forwarded copy in the owner's mailbox and related work records. Client records, an active request, a documented security incident or a required obligation may need longer retention. We check those exceptions before deletion.

Routine website access and error logs are configured for daily rotation with up to 29 archives, targeting approximately thirty days of content. Timing depends on the scheduled rotation completing. Records preserved for a documented incident are handled separately.

Deletion from active use does not instantly remove every copy. Email can remain in Deleted Items until removed from that folder; the two inquiry mailboxes then have a fourteen-day recovery period. We do not maintain a separate email backup or export service. Hosting keeps one scheduled daily local backup. OpenProject has local backup generations pruned after they are more than fourteen full days old and central backups retaining selected daily, weekly and monthly generations. These are generation-based rules, so a stopped backup schedule can retain older copies. We do not maintain additional website or OpenProject backup copies beyond these identified backups. Provider-managed recovery copies may follow separate schedules. We assess those copies and any required preservation when handling a deletion request rather than promise immediate erasure from every backup.

Requests and changes

Email hello@darkmonkeymedia.com to request access, correction, deletion or an opt-out, or to ask a privacy question. Jasper DiSanto handles these requests and may ask for proportionate information to verify the request. Available rights and required exceptions depend on applicable law. We will explain any inability to fulfill a request. You do not need to accept analytics to contact us.

We may update this policy when our practices change. The effective date will identify the current version. Our website links to other services whose privacy practices are governed by their own policies.
